DELTA Rx and the Drake College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences annually hosts “Drake University’s Next Top Entrepreneur Competition.” The event coincides with Entrepreneurship Week USA, a time designated for colleges around the country to promote creative thinking within their student population. The competition at Drake, consistent with the DELTA Rx mission, serves to foster a spirit of change and innovation among Drake students across campus. This tool kit provides support for other institutions who would like to pursue a similar event.

It's goal was to determine the time in therapeutic range for a cohort of patients on oral anticoagulation (OAC) managed by an outpatient anticoagulation clinic and determine how many patients are able to achieve at least 56 days of INR stability without requiring a dosage change. |

Unfortunately, because the risks and benefits of these devices have not been adequately studied, several important issues remain. This article explores the potential limitations and risks of IVC filters.

Lowell Anderson, recipient of the Remington Honor Medal, presents an on-line video of "Developing your Career Goals with a View Toward Leadership." Mr. Anderson was the youngest pharmacist ever to be appointed to the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy, of which he was president. He held several positions with the American Pharmacists Association, as well as founding member and governor of the American Pharmacists Association Political Action Committee. Mr. Anderson also held the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Physicians Health Plan of Minnesota.

"This session will focus on building the case for incorpotating entrepreneurial leadership as a core curricular component. The session will begin with a short presentation to outline the history of entrepreneurship in pharmacy (including initiatives and successes of colleges in the past and present), the challenges of the last few decades and the future, and the an analysis of successes through the lens of entrepreneurship. Participants will be challenged to consider entrepreneurial leadership as the key to success in the future. Incorporated in this session will be key concepts of entrepreneurial leadership including accepted definitions, characteristics and development of entrepreneurial leaders and entrepreneurship, and the growth of the field of entrepreneurship."
