Rick Knudson is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with Premier Consulting Solutions, a subdivision of Premier, Inc. Rick provides consultative services to hospital and health care systems to identify opportunities for improvements in cost-effective therapeutic interventions within supply chain management and medication utilization. Prior to his consulting career, Rick was a clinical pharmacist at a large community hospital in north central Iowa, providing clinical pharmacy services and managing formulary processes.

Rick received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. His practical training was completed through a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Rick has served as president and treasurer of North Iowa Pharmacy, Inc., a local pharmacy association in north central Iowa. In addition, Rick is an active member of the Iowa Pharmacy Association where he has served in the House of Delegates, as a member of various IPA Committees, a past participant in the Leadership Pharmacy Conference, a current member of the IPA Health-System Liaison Board, and most recently as a Trustee-at-Large on the IPA Board of Directors. Rick is also an active member of both ASHP and ACCP. Rick continues to actively support the Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and he is a participant in many community and church events.
