Objectives
The mission of DELTA Rx is to empower professionals to boldly pursue opportunities for breakthrough achievements. Two surveys were distributed to acquire the perceptions of entrepreneurial leadership and the impact of activities undertaken by the DELTA Rx Institute, as well as to observe changes following marketing of the DELTA Rx Institute and the concept of entrepreneurial leadership.
Methods
The Likert scale question format was used to garner respondent’s perceptions. The first survey was distributed in 2006 via SurveyMonkey.com to DELTA Rx Institute members, Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences students and Iowa Pharmacy Association members. The second survey was distributed via SurveyMonkey.com to DELTA Rx Institute members, Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences students, preceptors, and Iowa Pharmacy Association members.
Results
Results of the two surveys indicate an increase in agreement with the importance of entrepreneurial leadership and the role of academia, as well as broadened the definition of entrepreneurial leadership.
Implications
Respondents believe academia needs to be involved, pharmacy practice needs to be more entrepreneurial and entrepreneurial leadership is important to the advancement of our profession.
